On Tuesday we did:
Theme word cards
Poem/Rhyme: Ten Red Apples
Story: Are You My Mother by P.D. Eastman
Song: The Ants Go Marching
Math: Counting apple erasers
Scripture Story: Adam and Eve review & coloring page
The rest of the week we did nothing! Harmon is not even 2 1/2 so I didn't really feel too bad about not going full force the first week.

ABC Preschool
I decided today that I would spend a bit of time each day teaching Harmon the letters (sounds and visual recognition). I figure if nothing else it would give us a fun activity to do. I came across some curiculum here: http://www.letteroftheweek.com/preschool_age_3.html and will see how I like it. I decided to skip the ABC introduction week and start with A this week.
Here is what we did today after naptime:
Monday 3/21/11
-Introduce letter
-Coloring page-Theme words cards
Apple, ambulance, alligator, astronaut, ant
-Poetry/Rhyme
Ten Red Apples
Ten red apples growing on a tree,
Five for you and five for me.
Help me shake the tree just so,
And ten red apples fall down below.
One, two , three, four, five,
Six, seven, eight, nine, ten.
Author Unknown
(this was really fun, to pretend our arms were trees and our fingers the apples, and to eat the apples at the end)
-Book
Alexander Anteater’s Amazing Act by Barbara deRubertis
-Music
The Ants Go Marching
-Bible story
Adam and Eve
(this would have worked better with some pictures)
It was a good first day, I am excited to see if Harmon is excited for "school" tomorrow. Also, instead of posting a daily of what we did, maybe I will just do a week review.
